IV.Air Force Online Audition Event of “New Advanced Trainer Aircraft – Let’s Name It”

Under the policy guidance of “domestically built national aircrafts and national defense independence”, the locally manufactured “New Advanced Trainer Aircraft” will be ready for deployment on September 30th 2019. This is a national pride, and the Air Force Command Headquarters has conducted a public naming activity on the “Air Force Command Headquarters Facebook Page”, hoping that both the military and civilians can do their part at national security and build an impenetrable national defense force together.

The planning for the online audition event is shown below:

i)Event schedule:

1.Names collection: 2018/11/27 12:00 to 2018/12/11 24:00

2.Air Force Command Headquarters selection: 2019/12/12 to 2019/12/31

3.Online voting: 2019/1/1 00:00 to 2019/1/30 24:00

4.Selection result announcement: 2019/2/26

ii)Event promotion channels:

Air Force Command Headquarters Facebook page, spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defense Facebook page, other military service Facebook pages, Youth Daily News, Twilight Garden television teaching etc.

iii)Names collection:

1.Participants must be of Republic of China citizens. The details of the event will be posed on the “Air Force Command Headquarters Facebook page”, which invites citizens to participate the naming activity. Use 2 Chinese characters for the name, provide an explanation for the name (no more than 100 words), and submit through Google Forms. One submission per applicant, and only the first submission will be accepted if the same name is submitted by multiple applicants.

2.After the names collection, the Air Force Command Headquarters will consider CREATIVITY (20%), DEGREE OF MEMORIZATION (20%), ADVANCED TRAINER AIRCRAFT RELEVANCY (30%), and EXPLANATION (30%) as the scoring basis and select 10 names to be posted on the “Air Force Command Headquarters Facebook page” for citizens to vote.

3.The 10 selected applicants will be contacted by the Air Force Command Headquarters and asked to provide basic personal information and identity documents in order to verify the Republic of China citizenship; those who do not meet the requirements will have their eligibility forfeited and replaced by applicants on the waiting list.

iv)Online voting:

1.All citizens are free to participate the online voting.

The selected names will be posted on the “Air Force Command Headquarters Facebook page”, and citizens are invited to vote at the specified voting area on the “Air Force Command Headquarters webpage”.

v)Grading methods

1.First phase: Air Force Command Headquarters judges x60%.

2.Second phase: online voting – number of votes x100% / total votes x 40%.

3.The top 3 submissions will be selected according to the results combined from the 1st and 2nd phase and posted on the “Air Force Command Headquarters Facebook page”.

vi)Rewards:

1.Selected awards: the top 3 applicants will be rewarded with TWD $50K, $30K and $20K according to their rankings; the selected applicants will be rewarded with TWD $2000 respectively.

2.The name awarded as first place will be used as the naming reference for the “New Advanced Trainer Aircraft”, and the winner will also have the opportunity to attend the naming ceremony of the advanced trainer aircraft.

3.Voting awards: 100 citizens among those who have voted at the specified voting area will be selected randomly and receive propaganda gifts from the Air Force Command Headquarters.

vii)General rules:

1.Applicants must make sure that their creations are original without any degree of plagiarism and re-modification, and are not in violation of any intellectual property of others; any violation will be subject to eligibility being forfeited by the Air Force Command Headquarters, and the creators will be responsible for any illegal elements derived from their creations.

2.Do not include any pornographic, indecent, slandering, obscene, homophonic, malicious, and irrelevant words or phrases. The Air Force Command Headquarters reserves the right to remove any submissions and cancel the eligibility of any participants.

3.From the date of the publication of the selection results, the selected applicants are subject to allowing the Air Force Command Headquarters on using, modifying, reproducing, publicly broadcasting, distributing, altering, releasing, publicly publishing, and publicly transmitting their creations without any further notification and disbursement.

4.The winners will be subject to the Standards of Withholding Rates for Various Incomes; this event award will be listed personal “Income from Contests and Games and from Prizes and Awards Won by Chance”, and the winners are to pay 10% of the total received award.

5.For any unmentioned matters, the Air Force Command Headquarters reserves the right to revise, change, suspend, terminate, and explain the rights to the conditions of this event at any time, and any changes will be posted on the “Air Force Command Headquarters Facebook page” without further notice.

6.Participants must submit according to the required formats; those who do not submit according to the required formats or submit with incomplete information will not be allowed to submit subsequently and their eligibility will be forfeited by the Air Force Command Headquarters.

All participants of this event are deemed to agree and accept the various rules of this event.
